USC at Washington football

Here are some of my favortie photos (from what I went through so far) from the Washington vs. USC game in Seattle. It was actually quite a good game. My first prediction was 42-10 USC. But I think Washington surprised everyone with a 3 point loss.

This picture is full frame (no cropping) shot with a 400 2.8 lens and a Canon Mark III.

Shot with a 70-200

70-200, the shot right after the diving touchdown.

John David Bootie gets sacked. Shot with 400 from sideline.

Huskies celebrate after their Sack.

Jake (huskies offense) Locker runs in for a touchdown. Shot with a 70-200 while I was laying on the ground.

USC Sunset

Shot the USC football game this weekend and it was the first time it had really rained since I have been in LA. It poured and I am from Seattle. After the rain stopped the sun came out and there were still clouds in the sky.
This photo was taken with 2 minutes left in the half. Right as the sun was going down. It is a composite of 6 images (to achieve the panoramic view) It is almost 30 inches long.
Taken with a Canon 1D Mark III in raw mode with a 16-35.

Blocked Field Goal

REMEMBER TO CLICK ON IT FOR A LARGER IMAGE.

This photo was taken at the University of washington and Ohio State game in Seattle. The score was 7-3 in favor of UW and it was a failry "easy" field goal. I ran from the in-zone to the side of the field layed down and grabbed my 70-200 on my mark III. I prefocused on the defense and fired 4 shots off during the kick.
After OSU blocked the field goal the momentum of the game changed completly. OSU scored two quick touchdowns and never looked back.

UCLA Football

For these two photos I give full credit to my camera. I was watching the QB and when he throw the ball I turned the camera and saw the ball hit the players hands and reacted by clicking the shutter. I cant believe how fast the camera focused and responded.
Score...Mark III 1 person 0.

USC Football

I was actually a little disappointed with this photo because I was originally laying on the ground to get a nice low vantage point in the center of the field. Then a "security gaurd" came and told me I couldnt be there and had to move. So I got up and this happend at the same time. The shot would have been much better from the lower angle to clear up some of the people and distractions on the sidelines.

Later the gaurd said he was wrong and told me I could be there.
Thanks buddy.

Summer X games

Tony Hawk

This shot was pretty hard to do. I was trying to pan with the riders but they kept doing flips (who would have thought that they would do that during a trick competition) So one time I spun the camera in a circle as I panned sideways and ended up with this. The 2 Flashes were a nice surprise also.
This shot was taken with a 10-22mm lens on a very rare cloudy day in LA during the mens Vert Ramp competition. The sky turned golden/red because I change the cameras temp in camera to 10k to warm it up as I exposed for the clouds it makes a nice scene.

Even though this isnt that great of a shot, It took soooo long to isolate the rider in the small patch of grass at the home depot center. Specially with the fans running around back there. It was ethier this..or the blown out sky.
